Who are we?

Veterans and Fallen Heroes Organization is a non-profit organization supporting Local Veterans and Heroes. 100% of the money raised through our annual Poker Run goes DIRECTLY to the Cape Girardeau Missouri Veterans Home residents, not the home itself. While we can never repay them and their families for their sacrifices for our Country and freedom, we strive to make their lives a little more enjoyable.
 

What do we do?

A Veterans and Fallen Heroes Organization committee visit with the residents throughout the year. In addition to visiting with the residents, this committee finds out the needs of individual residents. In many cases, it is the basic needs: toiletries, socks, undergarments, and clothes; other times, residents may need to replace a TV or radio, or perhaps they do not have one. The money raised from the Poker Run is used to purchase these items for the residents – It’s the least we can do! One year, the residents, as a whole, requested a new bingo machine as theirs broke. It was our honor and privilege to buy them a new bingo machine, which they still enjoy today!
Every year the residents enjoy looking at the bikes and muscle cars. In 2022, we could take some residents for rides in the cars. The huge smiles on their faces as they raced away in the drag cars were indescribable! This year, we will have a sidecar to take residents for a ride on a motorcycle in addition to the drag cars!
 

How do we raise money?

Money is raised through the registration fee of the Poker Run Itself, Silent and Live Auctions, T-shirt sales, various raffles, and monetary donations. This wouldn't be possible without YOUR support through sponsorships, donations, and participation.
